Why this needs to exist
Every vote, speech and Dáil question in Ireland is public record. In theory. In practice it's buried in Oireachtas transcripts nobody reads, split across sites that weren't built for humans, and completely disconnected from the person you're actually trying to keep tabs on.
If you want to know how your TD voted on something, you're stuck searching PDFs or trusting a tweet. That's not transparency, that's just data existing somewhere.
We think “somewhere” isn't good enough. If you're a constituent, you should be able to sign up in ten seconds and get told, in your own inbox, whenever the person representing you does something worth knowing about.

What DáilDex actually does
It's deliberately simple. No app to download, no dashboard to check obsessively, no account wall.

Oireachtas record, 8 July 2026That's the whole product from the outside. Under the hood it's a lot more involved: an ingestion pipeline pulls structured data out of the Oireachtas record into Postgres, then an agentic AI system, powered by a group of open-source models we host ourselves in Ireland, watches for new activity and turns it into something readable. Mailgun handles the inbound side, so replies actually go somewhere useful instead of into a void.
We spent a long time getting the architecture right before writing a line of frontend, because the whole point is that this has to be reliable. If we tell you your TD voted a certain way, that has to be correct, always, no exceptions.
What it's not
It's not going to have a feed you scroll. It's not going to have gamified badges or a leaderboard of “most active TD.” It's not going to try to editorialise about who's good or bad. It just tells you what happened and lets you decide what you think about it.

The frontend is intentionally small — five pages — because we don't want DáilDex to be something you visit.
We want DáilDex to be something that visits you, once, when there's actually news.
Free, and staying free
DáilDex will always be free for any Irish person who wants alerts about their TD. That's not a launch discount, that's the model. If we ever build paid features, they'll live on top of higher-volume use cases, not on gatekeeping basic access to what your own representatives are doing.

We're in the pre-launch stretch now, reaching out to TDs around Waterford and a few former TDs for early feedback before we open this up more widely. The pipeline is built, the agentic system is running, and we're stress testing the email flow to make sure replies land where they should.
