Dex is free and will stay free. The larger models are expensive to run, though, so until now the strongest ones have been kept for Dex Pro, at €10 a month. For one week we are opening all of it to anyone with a DáilDex login.

What we added
Four of the six are Pro-only, next to Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT 6 Astra. The other two, MiMo V2.6 Pro and Fugu Max, join the models you can use for free by agreeing to cloud training.
We also moved our Anthropic mid-tier slot from Sonnet 5 to Claude Sonnet 5.5. Chats that used Sonnet 5 switch over on their own. Alongside those, launch week opens GPT 6.1 Sol, Kimi K3, Grok 4.7 and GLM 5.3.
We haven’t published benchmarks for the new models, and we’d rather you judge them on your own questions. Ask the same question of two models and compare the answers and the sources they cite.
And everything else Pro does
You also get 500 messages a day, ten times the usual, and none of this needs a training opt-in.
/docDocuments you can keep- Study notes, briefings, legal memos, submissions, speeches, press releases, or a letter to your TD, downloadable as Word, PDF or Markdown.
/deepDeep research- Longer investigations that combine Oireachtas record lookups with twice the trusted Irish sources per search, then say where they agree and where they don’t.
/factcheckFact-checks- Test a claim against the record and trusted sources. You get a verdict, dated evidence, and what the record doesn’t settle.
/pqParliamentary questions- A standard-form draft for written answer, plus two sharper alternatives, as a document.
/examStudy coach- Exam-style questions for CSPE and Leaving Cert Politics and Society, one at a time, marked against the likely scheme. Dex coaches; it doesn’t write your homework.
Legal researchIrish law, cited- Acts, constitutional articles, statutory instruments and court structures, cited to the Irish Statute Book. It’s information, not legal advice.
How to get it
Sign in or create an account.
Launch week is for signed-in accounts, so a guest pass won’t get it. Creating an account is free and takes about a minute.
Open Dex.
Your account switches to Pro by itself. There is nothing to redeem and no card to enter.
Pick a model.
Use the model menu at the bottom of the chat. You can switch models in the middle of a conversation.
What happens on Monday 5 October 2026
Your account goes back to the free plan without you doing anything. Your chats stay. If you found a model you want to keep using, Dex Pro is €10 a month and helps pay for keeping the rest of DáilDex free.
Questions
When does it start and end?
It started on Tuesday 29 September 2026 and runs to the end of Monday 5 October 2026, Irish time.
Do I need a card?
No. You don’t enter payment details and nothing renews. On the last night your account goes back to the free plan.
Why do I have to sign in?
A DáilDex login ties Pro access to you, so nobody can claim it with only your email address. It also keeps your chats across devices.
What happens to my chats afterwards?
They stay. You keep your history and the free models. Pro-only models and features lock again unless you subscribe.
Is Dex still civic-only?
Yes. Dex answers questions about Irish government, politics and law, and links to the record. New models don’t change that.
