Committee Stage division on the Broadcasting (Amendment) Bill 2026
The Select Committee on Arts, Media, Communications, Culture and Sport met on Tuesday, 22 September 2026 to consider the Broadcasting (Amendment) Bill 2026 at Committee Stage. The Cathaoirleach opened the meeting by welcoming the Minister and his officials, and noted that members must be physically present to participate in a division in committee and cannot vote from a remote location.
Nine participants voted on the amendment. The members voting Níl were Brian Brennan, Micheál Carrigy, Michael Cahill, Patrick O'Donovan and Pádraig O'Sullivan. The members voting Tá were Máire Devine, Sinéad Gibney, Alan Kelly and Aengus Ó Snodaigh. The amendment was lost on a vote of Tá 4 to Níl 5.
