The DáilDex mark, colours and voice
DáilDex makes the Oireachtas readable. The look is calm, civic and editorial. Use the mark and colours below as they are. If you need something that is not here, ask first.
Logo
A harp inside a shield. The shield refers to the State and the harp to the Oireachtas. Keep clear space around the mark equal to the height of the harp.
Downloads
Use the SVG files wherever the tool accepts vectors, and the PNGs otherwise. All PNGs have transparent backgrounds. If you need the full wordmark as a vector, or another format, email hello@daildex.ie.
Colour
Colours are set as oklch tokens in the site stylesheet. Use the tokens, not hard-coded values, so light and dark mode stay in step.

Voice
- Plain Irish English, sentence case, warm and direct.
- No hype and no exclamation marks.
- Write Dáil, Seanad, Taoiseach and Tá with their fadas, and explain each term the first time.
- Say what a record shows and what it does not. Never judge motives or take sides between parties.
- Every figure has a date and a source link.
Using the logo
- Clear space. Keep space around the mark equal to the height of the harp on every side.
- Minimum size. 24 px high on screen and 10 mm high in print. Below this the harp strings blur together.
- Colour. Use the full-colour symbol on paper and wash backgrounds, the white one-colour version on dark, and the black one-colour version for single-colour print.
- Placement. Keep the mark on a plain area. Do not place it over faces, busy photography or other logos.
Media and company use
You may use the logo and the press description below to refer to DáilDex in news coverage, reports, presentations, reviews, and partner or employer pages that link back to DáilDex.
Boilerplate
DáilDex makes the Oireachtas readable. It is an independent, non-partisan service that turns votes, bills, debates and TD records into plain-English pages and alerts, with every figure dated and sourced to the official record.
- Ask first before you use the logo as a sponsor or partner mark, in product packaging, in merchandise, or in anything that suggests DáilDex endorses a person, party, company or campaign.
- Do not recolour, rotate, outline or rebuild the mark, or combine it with another logo into a new one.
- Do not describe DáilDex as linked to any political party, or use it in political advertising.
- Press and licensing questions, and requests for other formats, go to hello@daildex.ie.
What to avoid
- Do not stretch, skew, recolour or add effects to the mark.
- Do not put the mark on a busy photo without a solid backing.
- Do not use green for decoration. It means action or a vote.
- Do not use party colours or imply DáilDex is linked to any party.
