Data licence
The data is derived from the Houses of the Oireachtas Open Data API and is used under the Oireachtas (Open Data) PSI Licence. You must follow that licence when you reuse it.
Attribution
When you publish, display or redistribute data from the API, include this notice where people will see it:
Contains Parliamentary information licensed under the Oireachtas (Open Data) PSI Licence
Where you can, link to the sourceUrl on each record. If you change or summarise the data, say so, and do not present your changes as the official record.
Not an official source
DáilDex is independent. It is not run or endorsed by the Houses of the Oireachtas or the Government of Ireland. We clean, match and link records, and mistakes can happen. For anything important, such as legal, journalistic or contractual use, check the linked official source.
Best-effort beta, no warranty
The API is a beta, run on a single server with no uptime guarantee. It is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from its use, from errors or gaps in the data, or from downtime. We may change, limit or withdraw it, including endpoints and fields.
Fair use and rate limits
Anonymous use is limited to 60 requests an hour per IP address. A free API key raises that to 5,000 requests a day. Do not get around the limits, for example by rotating IP addresses, creating several accounts or keys to pool quota, or scraping our website instead. If you need more, ask us at api@daildex.com. We may slow down or revoke keys that harm the service.
API keys
Keys belong to a DáilDex account (up to five active keys). Keep them secret, use them from your server rather than a public web page, and revoke any that leak. You are responsible for requests made with your keys. A key is shown once, when you create it.
What is not allowed
Do not use the API to harass or target private individuals, to suggest that DáilDex or the Oireachtas endorses you, or to break the law. The data is the public parliamentary record of public office-holders.
Personal data
The API serves only public parliamentary records. We log IP addresses transiently to apply rate limits. If you have an API key, we store its name and prefix, when it was created and last used, and the account it belongs to, along with any webhooks you register. See our privacy policy for the rest.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the API after a change means you accept it.
