Dex Study · Write

Feedback on your draft. Your words stay yours.

Write is a coach, not a ghostwriter. It asks the questions an examiner or lecturer would, and it keeps a record of exactly what it did.

Updated 9 October 2026

Three levels of help

  • Coach (default): asks questions and points out where the argument or evidence is thin.
  • Proofread: fixes grammar and clarity without changing your meaning.
  • Co-write: available only for work that is not assessed.

The assistance record

Every time Dex helps, the action is logged with the document, including word counts before and after. If your school or university asks how you used AI, you can show exactly what happened instead of guessing.

Work you mark as assessed never gets the co-write option. Your school's or college's AI rules always apply, so check them first.

Built for sourced writing

  • Harvard and OSCOLA citation styles, with patterns for Dáil debates, Acts and the Constitution.
  • A word limit counter and templates for common structures.
  • Export to a file or print when you are ready.

Frequently asked questions

In Coach mode it does not. It gives feedback on your draft. Co-write exists only for work that isn't assessed, and assessed documents are protected by default.

The assistance record shows what Dex did in each document. You decide whether to share it. It is there so you can be open about how you worked.

DáilDex

We noticed you're visiting from outside Ireland. A TD (Teachta Dála) is a member of Ireland's lower house of parliament—the closest equivalent to an MP. A Senator sits in Seanad Éireann, the upper house. You can still use DáilDex to follow either and receive the same alerts. Shareable explainer
