More than 300 told to leave Citywest
More than 300 Ukrainians living in State accommodation at Citywest in Dublin were told they would have to leave the temporary hub, with dozens of disabled people among those affected.
The Government announced earlier this year that it was phasing out State provision of accommodation for Ukrainians. Residents at the Citywest complex said they were notified in late June that they would be moved and would need to apply to be offered alternative State accommodation by July 17.
Concerns have been raised regarding a number of issues, including a narrow window for applications, moving further away from hospitals and specialised resources, and the lack of room for error in applying for new accommodation.
The issue was described as particularly acute for a vulnerable group, including people who are blind, use a wheelchair, or have complex healthcare needs.
