We noticed you're visiting from outside Ireland. A TD (Teachta Dála) is a member of Ireland's lower house of parliament—the closest equivalent to an MP. A Senator sits in Seanad Éireann, the upper house. You can still use DáilDex to follow either and receive the same alerts. Shareable explainer

Barry Heneghan, TD for Dublin Bay North

Barry Heneghan Speaks on World Mental Health Day

The record shows Barry Heneghan, Independent TD for Dublin Bay North, addressed the Dáil on World Mental Health Day. He welcomed two new Solace mental health cafés, one for Dublin's north inner city and one for Dublin Mid-West, and commended free online counselling. He said young men still feel it is not okay to seek help and called for an approach involving multiple Departments, noting mental health does not work in isolation from the rest of people's lives.
